Amazing EBLI Stories: Tyler
When we first met Tyler, he was living a very difficult life. His suicide attempt had been aborted thanks to his dad and he'd been incarcerated. Part of his brain had been removed to alleviate his seizures. From a young age, he was put in classes to teach him life skills rather than academics.

Amazing EBLI Stories: Colleen Chahbazi
Colleen, my middle daughter, has always been bright, kind-hearted, and curious. Her reading challenges in 2nd grade, back in 1997, were the impetus that led to the creation of EBLI. Besides struggling with reading and spelling at that time, she lacked confidence, was self-conscious, and had low self-esteem.

Amazing EBLI Stories: Blake Tocco
When we first met Blake he had started 8th grade and life was hard, school was hard, and he was frustrated. His parents and grandparents were frustrated. Blake stood with his shoulders slumped forward and his neck bent so he was looking at the ground. His eyes were dull. He talked softly or not at all. His handwriting was illegible. His go-to reading strategy was to guess the words; it didn’t work. He looked and acted like a defeated young man.
