At EBLI, we transform the teaching and learning of reading, writing, and spelling, enabling teachers to assist their students’ in reaching their full literacy potential. Over more than 2 decades we have trained thousands of educators and others from around the world to deliver the revolutionary, highly effective and efficient EBLI system to their students.

EBLI Began from One Mom’s Quest to Help Her Child

In 1997 our founder Nora Chahbazi learned her daughter had literacy difficulties. After rigorously searching for a solution and then successfully teaching her child, she opened Ounce of Prevention Reading Center, created EBLI, and trained and coached classroom and intervention educators, tutors, and parents. Today the EBLI system of teacher training and student instruction is available to anyone with a computer, enabling EBLI to be accessed anywhere in the world to teach reading, writing, and spelling to learners of all ages and ability levels. We support EBLI instructors with coaching and resources to assist them in providing streamlined, integrated instruction that quickly moves their students to becoming become accurate, automatic, independent readers and writers.
