“When I first assessed 'M' a few weeks ago, she could only read the word "I." She speaks English decently but comes from a Spanish speaking family. I put her on the app with a pair of headphones, and she works quietly, while I tutor other students. She has only been using the app for a week. Yesterday, the resource room teacher, whom I had never met, excitedly approached me and asked, "What kind of work are you doing with this student?" I explained that I was not doing any work with her and that she was simply using the app, which teaches many of the foundational skills that are necessary for reading. The resource room teacher couldn't believe it. She explained that 'M' had accomplished all of the learning goals that were set for her for the entire year, and that this kind of thing never happens.”
