Online EBLI Teacher Training & Student Lessons (ETSL)

ETSL supports teachers with an annual, online subscription platform to explicitly, effectively, and efficiently teach reading, writing, and spelling. With ETSL, student literacy and overall educational performance are accelerated resulting in higher test scores, improved student behavior, and more instructional time in the classroom. ETSL is comprehensive and grade-level specific. After the one-day orientation, teachers access 80 – 120 daily lessons PLUS receive additional ongoing follow-up support. Monthly live coaching calls and administrator support are also included. ETSL is evergreen, so it can be started at any time after the one-day orientation.

Meet the Founder

NORA CHAHBAZI

Welcome! I’m Nora, the founder of EBLI and a devoted advocate of high level literacy for all. Formerly a Neonatal ICU nurse, my daughter’s struggles catapulted me into the world of literacy instruction in 1997. I’ve been dedicated to providing teachers – and students – with effective, efficient literacy instruction ever since.

I am a voracious reader and believe that no one should suffer unnecessarily because they have not yet been taught in a way that results in them becoming a highly proficient reader. The nation’s education system has recently become more interested in the research on the science of reading and how the brain functions when learning to read and read well. This is a welcome and exciting shift!

With EBLI, I am and always have been eager to provide educators with a bridge from the science of reading to application with students in the classroom. We know that 95-100% of students can and will become proficient at reading with effective, efficient instruction based on the science of reading!

In training and coaching thousands of teachers over the years, I have seen firsthand their dedication and devotion in the classroom. They deserve to have the highest quality tools, support, and knowledge to best utilize their expertise to get their students to their highest literacy potential. I love doing all I can to assist in that goal!

What to Expect with ETSL (EBLI Training and Student Lessons)

Computer that includes:

  • Speakers
  • Capability to project/show videos to students
  • High speed internet

We support you all the way. The Background and Theory videos in the ‘Before the Activities’ section are crucial to explain why we do (and don’t do) various practices. They need to be viewed before moving to the teacher training and student lessons for each activity.

Once you participate in teacher training, you will have everything you need to teach reading, writing, and spelling to your students. If you have questions, we provide coaching and ongoing Q&A support in a variety of formats.

The first time an activity is taught, there is a Student Lesson Video which Nora teaches. You can show this to your students and facilitate or you can teach the activity yourself.

After the first time, the activities will alternate between the teacher providing the EBLI instruction and Student Lesson Videos.

Student Materials

Each student will need:

  • Whiteboard (11×16 or 12×18 inches)
  • Dry Erase Markers
  • Eraser

 

Printed Materials

Materials are provided, including text for reading. There are instructions to create binders and you can print as you go.

ETSL binders are available for purchase for $250. If you want to purchase the binder(s), choose this option on the registration form.
